How to spot a Fake Breitling

Postby fakewatchbusta » Mon Nov 07, 2016 10:02 pm

Nearly every Breitling knock off out in the market and online will carry similar flaws, it is important to check this out so that you know that as the proud owner of a brand new Breitling, others aren’t running around saying they own a Breitling, they don’t deserve it.

we have scoured our available resources to give you a few things to look for when proving that your watch is the real deal and your buddy’s watch is a fake.

1. Imperfect second hand anchor

Notice in this comparison that not only is the fake second hand anchor obvious but you will see that the Breitling logo and lettering is blurred. This is a very indicative trait of fakes, blurred lettering and logos.

2. Applied logos with white space

Dials that have an applied Breitling logo are easy to identify with a trained eye. The applied logo on the fake watch is never well done. The fake logo looks thin and and fragile while the real watch logo has some substance to it. Also take a look at the white space in the logo on the fake Breitling. Real Breitling dials do not contain white space within the logo.

3. Calendar functions on subdials

Breitling watches do not have calendar functions in the subdials like the image on the right.

Today, casebacks are often a little more difficult to use in spotting a fake, here are a few examples of poorly made replicas that will tip you off immediately.

4. Vents

The real Breitlings have actual vents with empty space in between, notice how the fake vents are clearly not open.

5. Flat back and shallow markings
